WISN (local ABC affiliate) reports that "dozens of people" rallied in support of Governor Scott Walker.
Dozens, eh?
The rally was held in West Bend, WI (Washington County), a Republican stronghold. The Washington County GOP boasts they are the "reddest county in Wisconsin!" The Walker support rally is all over their homepage.
This was their second rally. The first attracted 50 Walker supporters. I'm not sure if the "dozens" reported for the second rally represents more or fewer than 50 (2 dozen = 24, 4 dozen = 48, etc).
The website also proudly proclaims that they have received "several calls" for pro-Walker yard signs, and encourage their readership to engage the petition-gatherers about why they support a recall.
I guess by their metric, the rally was a success, because they probably did outnumber the petition-gatherers that were stationed at that intersection outside the Texas Roadhouse restaurant, whether it was one or more dozen Walker supporters. I like to gather signatures in groups, but not groups that large! I think we understand how to marshall and allocate our resources better than that.
But there is no way they outnumbered the petition-gatherers in all Washington County yesterday.
Alert readers will remember that it was in West Bend that a man defaced recall petitions and faces felony charges.
In other news, I spent Friday evening with slightly-fewer-than-a-dozen recall supporters at another fun Overpass Light Brigade intervention.
And then Saturday getting some signatures!
Ooh, added fluff. As seen on the internets!
Those folks down in Racine know how to perform a recall. I love the costume (and I love our own Klements Sausage Guys, to whom this fellow must be an homage).
