I need some hope.
Well, Ms. Unoball does, actually.
If you have any message of hope, send it here and I'll make sure she reads it.
Let's read some, hopefully, below the squiggle.
She is in a daily state of despair, and nothing I say is getting through to her right now. Maybe she'll listen to some total strangers.
I offer her the following:
* The economy is getting better.
* Most US troops are out of Iraq, and more are exiting Afghanistan.
* Republicans are knifing each other in the backs during their primary.
* President Obama is a good man, and remains personally popular.
* Michelle Obama.
* The Obama administration has killed Osama bin Laden, and has been very successful against al-Qaida.
* The country is tired of teabagging right-wingers who have proved unable to govern.
* Obama's poll numbers are rising, and they show that, as of this moment, he would beat Romney and devastate Gingrich.
* There is no enthusiasm gap; Democrats will turn out in good numbers, with excitement, in November.
Yet, with all this, all that Ms. Unoball can see are crowds of cheering Republicans in the primaries and debates, many fine Democratic House members not running for reelection, and a constant drumbeat of hate for the president.
How do I combat this, and how can I convince my wife not to despair?
Show me some links, give me some evidence, and please, send some hope our way!
