Sniff, poor Mitt the right wing do loath you so:
Romney wrongly assumes that it is the role of government to provide more entitlements to help the poor. In fact, that is not the role of government. The historical biblical view of helping the poor is that they are best helped by individuals and the faith community. Government programs tend to enslave the poor in an endless cycle of poverty.
The forget government is supposed to be "we the people". Therefore it amounts to the same thing.
OK, the religious right have forgotten the New Testament and have entrenched themselves in the "Old",
What about his fellow "conservatives" over at the Weakly[sic] Standard
But Romney's remark isn't merely tone-deaf, it's also un-conservative. The standard conservative argument is that a conservative economic agenda will help everyone. For the poor, that means getting as many as possible back on their feet and working rather than languishing as wards of the welfare state.
Nope no help there.
How about the de facto leader of the Republican party?
"Right, the safety net is contributing to the destruction of their humanity and their futures! Everybody knows what he's trying to say but he didn't say it and he makes himself a target with this stuff. He comes across as the prototypical rich Republican. And it's gonna make it harder and harder and harder and harder to go after Obama because this turns around on him.
Oh the twisting and turning, but, no, no help there.
Interesting that they are still in the prototype phase.
When are they going to bring out the production model?
Shame that none of the prototypes have worked thus far, so, the ideal conservative is gathering dust in the lab?
“Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that have received--only what you have given.”
― St. Francis of Assisi
Nope no help from the saints either.
“If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.”
― St. Francis of Assisi
Funny how the right wing are "blow-harding in the wind" since Republicans appear to be determined to vote Romney and not "not-Romney".
