There has been some talk about who will run for Olympia Snowe's soon-to-be-vacated senate seat. I'd run myself but even though I am, in a way "from" Maine, I haven't lived here full time long enough, but Bill has. Plus, I am exploring the possibility of running for Selectman in St. George, my legal residence (though I live in Portland in the deep winter).
Here's why I think Bill in Portland Maine should run for Senate:
follow me over the fold...
1. Bill in Portland Maine is funny, but also serious. He is a more reliable Democrat than the last snarky guy to go to the Senate, Sen. Al Franken, who is all over wrecking the internet. Last time I checked, Bill is in favor of the Internet, and funnier than Sen. Franken.
2. Maine is weird. It's full of independents and wingunts like our Governor, Paul LePage. We don't need an independent, and we like our congresscritters just where they are. We need Bill in Portland, ME.
3. Kossacks have a great history of successful campaigns. Barack Obama: Kossack. Former Rep. Grayson: Kossack. Gov. Dr. Dean: Kossack. Sen. Edward Kennedy:Kossack. Gov. Deval Patrick: Kossack. See where I'm going here?
Bill should run. I would vote for him. Let's leave Chellie and Ms. Michaud just where they are--why upturn the apple cart?--and elect a short grumpy man with good intentions to represent the greatest State in the nation.
BILL IN PORTLAND MAINE FOR SENATE!
