Question: Why is the media re-running slander on an American citizen over and over without providing the citizen an opportunity to rebutt those statements?
This is the question that every fair minded American citizen should be asking. The media is appropriately exposing Rush Limbaugh's misogynistic statements against 3rd year law student Sandra Fluke. However, they are not effectively providing the context of her testimony, which effectively demonstrates the outright fabrication currently being espoused not just by Rush Limbaugh, but the whole of RW commentary including Bill O'Reilly last night.
Somehow this discussion has become about Sandra Fluke...which was the exact goal of the Republican play, straight out of their Anita Hill playbook. We are hurting Rush through boycotts, but that is doing nothing to correct the actual record.
I hereby call on every network, in the interest of clarity, accuracy, and equal time to #ReplaySandrasTestimony everytime a clip of Rush Limbaugh's slander is run on their network.
It is absolutely necessary that an equivalent amount of testimony, which was about her friend, as a counterpoint to the attacks on Sandra Fluke that have nothing to do with anything that she stated in front of Congress. The crazy, unjustified statements continue to get airtime in a loop on major networks without an opportunity for a response from the person being accused. It is unfair to ask Fluke to be on every network, but it is fair that those networks provide her voice to the discussion.
This should start with the Sunday Talk Shows. I am calling for an day long Twitter and Facebook campaign, today, directed at Sunday Show accounts requesting a dedicate 2 minutes of Sandra Fluke's testimony. I also believe it would be appropriate for cable news networks to replay her testimony in full at some point, as they have indirectly played a role in the attack on her via a RW misogynist.
I need your help.
I have no social media accounts. Who can help kickstart this effort?
