Dear Debbie Wasserman Schultz, stop talking about Rush Limbaugh attacking contraception. That’s one of the least of his sins. The fundamental problem with the Republican position is that they are denying people the right to spend their money as they choose.
When someone gets medical insurance as part of their compensation package it’s compensation. They’ve earned it and the employer should not be telling them what to do with it. And a requirement that they be allowed to get a service is not the same as forcing them to get it.
This is the problem with President Obama’s compromise. It reinforced the idea the there was some kind of conflict between the church and federal regulations.
Rep. Wasserman Schultz, stop giving the Republicans this advantage. Call them on this. This is about your right to spend your money in the way you see fit after you earn it. Full stop.
And, as for David Gregory, why did you let Newt Gingrich come on your program and lie to the nation? Gingrich said:
I am astonished at the desperation of the elite media to avoid rising gas prices, to avoid the President’s apology to religious fanatics in Afghanistan, to avoid a trillion dollar deficit, to avoid the longest period of unemployment since the Great Depression, and to suddenly decide that Rush Limbaugh is the great national crisis of this week. There’s no debate about access to contraception. There is a debate, which Cardinal George of Chicago has pointed out, is a war against the Catholic Church. You do have this weird situation where President Obama apologizes to Islamic extremists while waging war against the Catholic Church. That’s the language, by the way, of the Catholic bishops. You have an issue here of whether the government can coerce the Catholic Church not just into contraception, but into sterilization and abortion, something I don’t find any reporter wants to talk about. You have a President who voted for infanticide as a state senator, who represents the most extreme pro-abortion position in America. So, if you want to have a dialog about this, David, let’s set the record straight. Barack Obama, as a state senator, voted to allow doctors to kill babies if they survive the abortion. Barack Obama, as President, in the most radical anti-religious move made by any President, is trying to coerce the Catholic Church, at a time when he’s been told by the bishops that they would have to give up every single hospital,… they would have to give up every single university and college associated with the church, because he is asking them to violate their religious beliefs. Now, if you want to debate over whether the President of the United States should be allowed to impose his views on a religious institution, over whether America is now a secular country, let’s have that debate.

Meet the Press, 4 March 2012]
Let’s count the lies:
Lie #1: The media is avoiding rising gas prices.
Lie #2: The media is avoiding the deficit.
Lie #3: The media is avoiding unemployment.
Lie #4: There’s no debate about access to contraception.
Lie #5: President Obama apologized to Islamic extremists.
Lie #6: The President is waging a war against the Catholic Church.
Lie #7: The bill Obama voted for is equivalent to infanticide. [That it’s even about babies.]
Lie #8: The Catholic Church would have to give up their hospitals, colleges and universities to satisfy the regulations.
Lie #9: The President is asking the church to give up its religious beliefs.
I’ll make my own assertion here: Not since Richard Nixon has a politician gone on national TV and lied so egregiously to the country.
