"Judgment is rendered declaring 2011 Wisconsin Act 23’s photo ID requirements unconstitutional to the extent they serve as a condition for voting at the polls. Moreover, defendants are permanently enjoined forthwith from any further implementation or enforcement of those provisions."
Hon. Judge Richard Niess, Dane Co. Cir. Ct. in League of Women Voters v. Walker et al. 3/12/12.
This is a permanent injunction, by the way!
Thank you, League of Women Voters!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Here is the quote of the day from the judgement:
"A government that undermines the very foundation of its existence – the people’s inherent, pre-constitutional right to vote – imperils its legitimacy as a government by the people, for the people, and especially of the people. It sows the seeds for its own demise as a democratic institution. . . . This is precisely what 2011 Wisconsin Act 23 does with its photo ID mandates."

(Sorry for the brevity of this post, but I have to make the letters "E" and "D" because now - or almost now depending on one's sources - our Governor is officially recalled!)
And we await until the end of session (where all kinds of crazy bills are getting rammed through, and none of them are about jobs and most of them take away rights from women) when Peter Barca has indicated he will inform us regarding whether or not he is going to run for Governor.
He's the man to do it! He's stood with us from the very beginning and we will stand with him!
