In October, I wrote about Mahlon Mitchell and my mission to get him to run for Governor of Wisconsin against Republican Scott Walker in a recall election. I am proud to announce that he is now running for Lt. Governor against Republican Rebecca Kleefisch.

Yesterday, my campaign sent out the following press release:
SHEBOYGAN – Asher Heimermann, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 26th Assembly District, has endorsed Mahlon Mitchell for Lieutenant Governor in the recall election against Rebecca Kleefisch.
“Mahlon Mitchell has been a strong advocate for hardworking families of Wisconsin and I’m proud to support his candidacy,” Heimermann said. “Mahlon is the only candidate who will be honest and work for citizens of Wisconsin.”
Mahlon Mitchell is the current President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin. Assuming the office January 2011, he became the first-ever African American president for the organization. Mitchell has been a firefighter for more than 13 years in The City of Madison and was promoted to lieutenant in 2010.
Asher Heimermann is a Democratic candidate running against incumbent Republican Mike Endsley in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Heimermann is a small business owner specializing in new media and website development.
Both Mitchell and Heimermann are critics of Governor Scott Walker’s collective bargaining changes, which prompted weeks of demonstrations in Madison last year and also prompted several recalls against republicans.
