Thousands of people in Afghanistan and Iraq have died at the hands of American foreign policy whether intentionally or otherwise. The story of the soldier who shot and murdered 17 innocent Afghans is a unique one, but the bloodshed of innocents at the hands of Americans is not. In the video – you have a woman weeping for her son whom she says she was caring for before “his brain fell into my hand”.
We’re spending $8 Billion a MONTH in Afghanistan….for what? The Afghans don’t want us there. Bin Laden is dead. They don’t even have any oil…which is a great irony because we always seem to find ourselves going to war with countries once we know they have oil and they’re unwilling to give it to us. There is only one reason that we’re there: It’s just geo-politics baby.
“Those that control the oil routes out of Central Asia will impact all future direction and quantities of flow and the distribution of revenues from new production.”
~James Dorian, Oil and Gas Journal, September 10, 2001
The map below was published one day before the infamous September 11th attacks. Coincidentally – there were no pipelines going through the Southeast of the Caspian oil and gas fields. Presumably – it was too dangerous to build and there was no security for the oil companies’ investments. Although – interestingly a “memo of understanding” existed and at a cost of $2.5 billion dollars…a pipeline through Afghanistan and Pakistan had a projected capacity of 1 million barrels of oil per day. We knew this then, and I find it ironic that just two days ago it was reported the TAPI oil and gas pipeline is in final talks for approval to deliver oil and gas directly through Afghanistan. Oh but – we’ve got plans for a pipelinein Iran too. Pretty soon American soldiers are going to get the opportunity to eat lots of Khoresht Bademjoon (Google it).
