Our very own peregrine kate, founder of the Monday Night Cancer Club, wants to attend NN12 so she can network with other health care advocates to expand the scope of MNCC.
This is a club no one wants to join, in truth, and compassion will help us make it through the challenge together.
We have a little challenge, far less serious than cancer, but important to our community's fight against cancer, and providing a place for cancer survivors and caregivers at
Daily Kos. PK needs to get around 500 votes of support to win a NN Scholarship from
Democracy for America. She has 225 votes of support at the time my diary posted.
If we can get 275 more votes or total of 500, I think she will be guaranteed a trip to NN12 but we only have today to meet the deadline.
UPDATE: 258 votes at 3:54 pm pacific. 284 at 6 pm pacific. 298 at 7:19 pm....getting CLOSER!
As a wise owl once said, all we need is some kossack kindness to send our PK to NN:
I guess you've heard
I'm a wise old bird,
And if wisdom you would find...
Always look for the best
And your life will be blest,
To all others' faults be blind.
In this life, I know
You will find it so
That if you think kindly of others,
You'll soon find that it's true
They'll think kindly of you...
Praise your sisters and your brothers!
So, calling all kossacks, wherever you are, please find your way to DK to
click this link to send PK to NN!
We can do this! Daily Kos gets an average per day of over 500,000 visits. Hourly visits can be 10,000! All we need is a fraction of that to send PK to NN!
Some may need to swim
run
jump over fences
skateboard
piggyback rides
fly our friendly skies
We appreciate your effort to get here. We can guarantee that you will not need to wait in line
or get into proper flamingos formation
just to wolf down a chance to vote for PK!
we jump for joy for each vote cast
cause we stand by each other
thanks…enjoy the rest of this lazy Sunday!
AFTER you please click this link to send PK to NN!
On a serious note: Peregrine Kate informed me this morning that her mother was hospitalized yesterday after a fall. So, she will be spending time with her mom, and might not be around in our comments today.
Kate really wants to go to NN. Can we do that for her? Like President Obama, I say: Yes, WE CAN!
