We're in what, April? With 7 months until the election, Romney is ALREADY selling access to lobbyists for his presumed inauguration in January.
Inauguration Access Nine Months Early.
Talk about Curtains being measured.
But Romney already appears to be preparing to open his nascent administration to his top financial supporters, the email from Stormont suggests, and the email contains an unusual combination of promises of access and early measuring of the presidential drapes. It also lays out the cost of other levels of access. At one Georgia fundraiser, for instance, $10,000 is required to "get a photo with Governor Romney."
"This is very important for the future of our country," Stormont wrote prospective donors, urging them "to unify in our efforts to retire President OBAMA in November."
Romney aides didn't immediately respond to an inquiry late Sunday evening about the offer.
What's interesting is that he's already promising access and early measuring of Presidential drapes. This is sorta insane how quick this is. But given that who he has been telling the details of what things he'd cut in the budget, perhaps it makes sense:
Romney plans to end HUD and "consolidate" Dept of Ed
On Sunday, Mr. Romney said he would look to the education department and HUD for potential cuts. "That might not be around later," Mr. Romney said of HUD.
Mr. Romney said he would either consolidate the education department with another agency or make it "a heck of a lot smaller." "I'm not going to get rid of it entirely," he said.
And look who he doesn't tell this stuff to. Voters. People who need to know this kind of information. He tells fundraisers only. These leaks are massively damaging.
