“I’m not sure about these cookies. Did you make those cookies?” “You didn’t, did you? No. No. They came from the local 7-Eleven bakery or wherever.”
Which.......shows one that money can't buy one class. For all the vaunted and repeated claims that Romney is "Patrician", I beg to differ. He can't even muster up basic manners. Now when an acceptable lie might be needed, he can't bring himself to conjure one. But if it has to with himself and his presidential ambitions, a litany of prevarications suddenly materializes from his lips.
This is what my grandparents would have called "from hunger". It's an odd phrase. It means that one is so coarse or tactless that they don't know any better. I have no idea of the etymology of the phrase and it is archaic to be sure.
Said the baker, the creator of said cookies:
“When I heard it, I thought, ‘Oh, my goodness. This guy has no idea how beloved this institution is that provided these cookies,’” said bakery owner and president John Walsh. “We wanted him to be welcomed with the best in the burgh, and he had no idea.”…
“We had a customer on Facebook say, ‘Maybe he’s just used to eating cookies with diamonds in them,’” said Walsh.
Later, John Walsh, the baker, appeared on Lawrence O'Donnell's show this evening and apparently had a change of heart and said he "..would love to have [Romney] back..".
He also said people were coming in "troves" since 'Cookie-Gate' hit the news. He's from hunger as well. Apparently he sees a profit center for the indignation on his behalf coming from his loyal patrons as he has a 'buy a dozen, get a half dozen' deal in place which seems to be doing well.
Carpe Diem Pecunium, I guess.
