Up for a little rabble rousing? There's a deadline that's coming up fast, so if you have the inclination, there's good karma to be had.
A petition is circulating world-wide to pressure Bayer to stop selling neonicotinoids and your signature can add force to the effort. Follow me for more information and a link that will bring you on board.
We've all seen first-hand the number of bees declining in our own gardens. Now we've read the recent reports that confirm what we've already suspected -- that insecticides are to blame.
Here is the text of the petition. I hope that you'll join me with your signature and that you'll help get the word out. I doesn't take much to sign, but it could make a big difference.
Thank you kindly.
from the petition:
Four European countries have begun banning these poisons, and some bee populations are already recovering. But Bayer, the largest producer of neonicotinoids, has lobbied hard to keep them on the market. Now, massive global pressure from Avaaz and others has forced them to consider the facts -- and in 24 hours, Bayer shareholders will vote on a motion that could stop these toxic chemicals. Please, let's work together and shame the shareholders to stop killing bees.
The pressure is working, and stopping Bayer is our best chance to save the bees. Please, sign the urgent petition and then pass it along-- let's reach half a million signers and deliver it directly to shareholders on Friday, April 27.
