I’ve been trying to write this diary for about two weeks now, and I’m finding it very hard to do.
If you look at my previous diary history, you’ll see that every year I participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Thanks to Kossacks, I’ve raised thousands of dollars over the years. This year, however, is different. I had no plans to participate in Relay for Life this year.
Then, in February, my friend’s mom succumbed to cancer, after battling the disease for several years. She was a huge part of the community, and especially loved helping kids in any way she could, including creating a very popular substance-free after party for the high school prom. I've known her for as long as I can remember, and it will be impossible to fill the hole that she left in our town.
In her honor, this year’s Relay for Life is going to be huge. Since so many people are raising money locally, I’ve taken it upon myself to get as many donations as possible from people all over. I would greatly appreciate any donation (minimum of $5) that any of you could provide.
If you’re looking for a cancer non-profit to donate to after the Komen fiasco, I highly recommend Relay for Life.
Please donate to my Relay page here.
Thank you for your continued support.
