This week is finals week, and I hadn't been in my office a half hour this morning when a panicky senior came to my office saying he was failing a couple classes & would be short of the required hours to graduate. Give...me...strength... *&^%$#@!
Let's look back on April 30ths of the past. On this date in 2005, missing Georgia woman Jennifer Wilbanks, the so-called "runaway bride," turned up in Albuquerque, NM.
...or not! ;D
Cloris Leachman is 86 today!
...or another CLASSIC...
It's time for SPARK in our lives! :D Whoever wrote this headline deserves a bonus. Can y'all just imagine the mess this spill would make?! Finally, look out all you disgusting rats!!
On with The Rachel Maddow Show...
"Fact or Friction" - Gee, this whole "men's jobs" VS "women's jobs" salary segment came from...uh...where? ;D In 19 of the 20 most common jobs for women, men get paid more. Even Bloomberg agrees with Rachel! In 264 out of 265 "common"jobs, men get paid more. 2 days after President Obama's inauguration, the Lilly Ledbetter Act finally got out of the Senate, and it was the first bill President Obama signed into law. 36 MENSA Senators voted against the bill; 172 MENSA House members voted against the bill. Anyone's who is surprised, I've got a bridge to see you. MENSA folks do not realize that denial ain't just a river in Egypt. And, here's that lovely segment from MTP yesterday! Is Alex WhatsHisName married? If so, is his wife barefoot & pregnant on a permanent basis?! Rachel wanted to talk policy; a couple other folk at the table were in denial mode-1 of which was a woman! Wow! That segment got around!! CNN proved Rachel right. Man, that's gotta pi$$ off the other dude! Rachel NAILED the whole MENSA rationale for "winning" the war on women; be seen with women & all is well! Hence, we got Senator McCentury naming $aint $arah from Wasilla for the position of being a heartbeat away from the leader of the free world.
Does the country live in Republican World?
Ugh...I'm almost afraid of that answer. Dr. Heidi Hartmann will probably have an interesting take on yesterday's shenanigans. ;D She made a great point, too. MENSA folk probably talk themselves into thinking the low pay rate isn't because of discrimination; they want to believe it's because they're less qualified & $hit. Again, the GOBP thinks 1984 is an instruction manual. Ministry of Truth my a$$!
"Admission Accomplished" - The Obama administration today formally admitted using drone strikes in Afghanistan & Pakistan. As long as we're droning AQ, it's all legal. So, if innocents get in the way...uh...
"EXXON Hustle & Flow" - There's an oil spill in LA. Huh...a part of the country that really does not need one. An off - shore drilling conference is in TX, and it was announced that the most deep off - shore rig will be drilled ASAP.
"Come What May" - Occupy folk are calling for marches, strikes, etc. tomorrow - May Day.
"Pay No Attention to the Man on the Record" - Mittens is trying to take credit for ordering OBL to sleep with the fishes & the resurrection of GM. Back in 2008, Mittens said he would not support a mission to Pakistan to get him. John Harwood gets Mittens delusion duty. The Etch - A - Sketch dude still has a job in the Mittens campaign?! Wow...I thought Mittens liked to fire people! ;D Mittens said in NH that any POTUS would've ordered that raid except the previous POTUS didn't. GWB also decided the auto industry NEEDED that loan in the final days of his reign of terror. Oh, don't make me think of Hillary back in 2008. *&^%$#@! And, she's SOS now. *&^%$#@!
"The American System of Government" - Pontiac, MI used to be the hub of cars, trucks, & football. Now, the MI state government owns Pontiac. The Silver Dome was sold as a big 'ol loss. If all city employees were sacked, Pontiac would still be in the red to the tune of over $1 million. The EM now in charge of Pontiac claimed that a previous city he managed is both hunky & dory finance wise. {insert annoying buzzer here} WRONG! It turns out EMs aren't helping MI city finances at all. A shock, I know. Detroit's fire chief might have to let vacant buildings burn because there isn't enough money to actually fight the fires. A former MI EM is whistle - blowing the whole operation now. MI state government thinks democracy should be sacked.
"Best New Thing in the World Today" - Yep, I was correct about what the best new thing in the world is! The building at the site of the former World Trade Center is now the tallest building in New York City. Sorry, Empire State Building! ;D If King Kong comes back, he will be pi$$ed. ;D
