Welcome to the Tuesday Coffee Hour here on Street Prophets. This is an open thread where we can hang out and talk about what’s going on in our worlds. I thought we might start today’s discussion by looking at old buildings.
Cape Blanco, Oregon. This is the Hughes House built in 1898.
I’ve always been fascinated by old buildings. They often seem to have architectural details that are ignored in modern buildings. Shown below are a bunch of old buildings that I’ve encountered on my travels.
Bandon, Oregon.
Joseph, Oregon.
Big Arm, Montana.
Hamilton, Montana.
Mount Stewart, Ireland.
Glendalough, Ireland.
Glacier National Park, Montana.
Polebridge, Montana.
How do you feel about old buildings? Should endeavor to preserve them or should we replace them with newer, more efficient, sleeker, buildings?
This is an open thread.
