Please, please, by the love of all that's holy, if you're running a Windows OS:
MAKE THE SYSTEM REPAIR DISC!
I've been messing around with computers for years, and I usually use a bootable clone as a backup. This time, I didn't, and I'm paying for it.
I put a system image of my Win7 32-bit on my smaller HHD, disconnected it, and did a clean install of Win7 64-bit on my C:\ drive.
Now I can't port the programs over, and it's all my own fault for not either using my usual clone method, or making the backup disk.
And of course this is one of the things that can (and is) triggering my OCD tendencies (they run in the family, I'm usually pretty well controlled), and I'm very not happy at the moment.
Let this be a lesson to you, my friends. /sigh
(Oh, if anyone HAS Win7 32, and doesn't mind making the CD, and emailing me the resulting files, I'd be more than grateful. Just KosMail me.)
I know I'll probably end up downloading the .iso of Win7 32 again, but what a pain in the arse that will be!
