Yeah, losing on the North Carolina stank, but Maryland needs your help.
Maryland isn't Jesse Helms country. Same-sex marriage polls here better than in the vast majority of the states where referenda or other votes failed. Further, Maryland has the largest out LGTB state legislative caucus in the country.
The recently-passed same-sex marriage bill will probably go to referendum in November. This one is actually winnable. And if North Carolina's terrible loss gets some pissed-off activists to help get out the vote up here, we'll take them.
Maryland can use your help. Big Church money is flowing in and the other side is fairly well organized. But we can win this one; it just won't win itself.
You want to help? Writing a check might help. Yard signs and literature and outreach booths won't pay for themselves; your money might help a LOT.
Good people to support:
http://www.equalitymaryland.org/ - State-wide advocacy group - they can use your MONEY.
http://www.heathermizeur.com/ - Delegate Heather Mizeur - the delegate you WISH you had in your state
There are many others - Marylanders, put the good links in the comments!
Don't just get pissed at the bigots - ruin their November in my beautiful, beloved Maryland! Outfight, outvote, outlast!
