Let's keep this story alive reporters of the world!
'Yes, thank you, Governor Romney, do you remember cutting John Lauber's hair?'
'A former classmate of yours, Matthew Friedemann, says you forcibly tackled and cut the hair of John Lauber, do you remember that?'
'Governor, I know you don't want to talk about this, but the thing that bothers most people is not that you did it but that you don't remember it, now is that true?'
'Mr. Romney, do you remember going to school with a boy named John Lauber?'
'Thank you Governor, now I want to ask you if you remember a classmate of yours named Thomas Buford?'
'Governor, why are so many people harping on you for a childhood prank that took place nearly 50 years ago?'
'This hair cutting story won't seem to go away, mainly because of Mr. Romney's baffling lack of recollection about the incident.'
'People across the blogoshphere are mostly wondering how he can't remember doing this..'
'John Lauber faced the same kind of discrimination that I did...'
'You know John Lauber was probably traumatized by this...'
'Bullying is a real problem and there oughta be a law...'
If Romney actually faces the above questions, and the talking heads say some of the things I've imagined here, he can't win election to anything, nor should he.
This story is going to sink his candidacy and it would not have been such a huge deal if he had simply admitted to remembering it, and said he felt terrible about it, and that he learned a lot from it, and never behaved that way again. But he didn't. He's doing the very dumbest thing he possibly can.
Obviously, he deserves it.
