As bubbanomics would say, Hahahahaha! The quote in the title was from a protest demonstration that assembled outside one of Walker's super-duper spontaneous -- no, really, we didn't plan these campaign stops all across the state, no sir! -- campaign rallies over the weekend:
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told supporters in Hudson that with just 10 days before he faces a recall election, he needs their help -- and their votes.
..."You need to tell people: 'Get out and vote,' " Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Brad Courtney said before Walker addressed the crowd. "The race is going to be razor thin, and we really need to do well here in St. Croix County. We have to get our people to the polls...

Those are not the words and actions of someone who has this thing all sewn up, no! They are the words of a very scared and desperate person. Little Lord Fauntleroy Walker is in serious trouble and he knows it. He may be a tool, but even he can grasp that with lots of the press in his pocket and Koch money coming out his keister, his inability to break 50% does not bode well.
He also cannot be happy about the increasingly negative news stories being generated about him. He's shoring up his legal fund with campaign dollars. The electorate is growing ever more aware of John Doe and the nascent e-mailgate. But wait; there's more! I just Googled "Scott Walker" and one of the upper hits (under news) was a delightful piece from NPR. But please don't take my link for it; Google him yourself and click the link from there, if you'd be so kind. Keep it prominent, like these other ways we can have fun and help influence the narrative.
This last week is totally crunch time, not just for Barrett, but for all the other dems who have stepped up to the plate for the recall election. If you are phonebanking from out of state, people might be more open to discussing their local race, if their district has one. I'd be surprised if the GOP candidates in the other races weren't enjoying plenty of those Koch millions; let's do what we can for the whole dem slate!
Fortunately, that's pretty easy to do with Letters to the Editor, especially since one of the other races is Lt. Governor, which would apply to everyone. Your letter is more likely to be published if it's in direct response to an article they've published recently. The recommended limit is 150-200 words, and "they" say sticking to one central point is best. Lucky for us, Walker leaves no shortage of openings for his opposition, and LTEs can be tailored for specific audiences quite well. Of course, pointing out that he's a lying crook should work for any demographic.
But just in case it doesn't, let's leave no stone unturned this last week. Please share the news stories documenting his malfeasance far and wide. Go especially far and wide on the Deer Czar thing, because you know that people in neighboring states go onto those Wisconsin pulbic lands to hunt. Please leave comments at news articles where you can and at Facebook. Please write LTEs.
Let's also remind everybody that the second and final debate is this Thursday. But most importantly, please make sure to visit and rec up all the Wisconsin activist diaries we get. In between those, please help build support for all the Wisconsin candidates we have (h/t to Puddytat, from whom I stealed the codey bits):
For Tom Barrett, Democratic candidate for Governor
For Mahlon Mitchell, Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor.
For Lori Compas Democratic candidate for State Senate to replace Scott Fitzgerald (former Republican Majority Leader).
For John Lehman Democratic candidate for State Senate to replace Van Waangard
For Kristen Dexter Democratic candidate for State Senate to replace Terry Moulton
For Donna Seidel Democratic candidate for State Senate for the seat vacated by Pam Galloway.
If you can't decide, you can always contribute to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin or We Are Wisconsin.
Madhaus was even way cool enough to put it all at one ActBlue page.
On Wisconsin!
