Polls, polls, polls--everywhere you turn, more polls. This one however is a real problem for Mittens on two major fronts:
1. He doesn't want to spend money in what's supposed to be a safe district.
2. The poll was completed June 4-5, well before Obama's immigration statement.
Here's a few findings:
Strong support from independent voters has Democratic candidates within striking distance of Republicans in Arizona. Recent polling from Project New America (PNA) shows President Obama trailing Mitt Romney by just 3 points in Arizona, and likely Democratic Senate nominee Richard Carmona trailing likely Republican nominee Jeff Flake by just 2 points.
The poll, which surveyed 791 likely Arizona voters from June 4-5, showed Mitt Romney with a 49-46 lead over Obama, and Jeff Flake with a 43-41 lead over Richard Carmona. Both races are within the poll’s +/-3.5% margin of error.
If Obama wins Arizona and the other expected blues, he could get re-elected without Florida or Ohio.
Texas tea anyone?
Only down by seven before this immigration battle.
