And stop calling it the ACA.
It is for all Americans: call it AmeriCare.
They called it "Obamacare" to denigrate it.
And yet even here, diary after diary, comment after comment, we call it "Obamacare"...
We use the word they want us to use...
"Obamacare" as a word won't win anyone over, anymore than calling it "Cheneycare" would win over a progressive.
And yet everyone agrees to use the word "Obamacare"...
PEOPLE LIKE WHAT IS IN IT.
But half the country can't get past the President's name.
And calling it the ACA is just as bad. Acronyms are depressing.
It may be the Affordable Care Act for America...but that, and ACA, are not going to win over any hearts.
And the word "affordable" is a word that says: for poor people, a handout, welfare... and does not say: health care is a right! health care is for all in America!
"Affordable" is a word that is a non-starter.
AmeriCare says 'we care' for each other.
The Supremes said it was a good and just law.
We can, here at Kos, today, rename and insist on everyone calling it
something that is bigger than partisan politics.
