I have managed to adhere, somehow, to the "no profanity in diary title" rule. It requires effort.
Though he never joined the military himself, Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) disparaged his Democratic opponent’s military service at a town hall on Sunday, saying that she’s not a “true hero.”
... SNIP ...
Finally, he [John McCain] talked a little bit about it, but it was very uncomfortable for him. That’s what’s so noble about our heroes. Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about. Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about. That’s why we’re so indebted and in awe of what they’ve done.

The woman he's running against, one Tammy Duckworth, lost both legs while serving in Iraq. She was a helicopter pilot and her chopper was hit by an RPG.
Let me repeat that Joe Walsh never saw fit to serve. Too busy avoiding paying his child support, no doubt. Full disclosure: neither did I serve in the military. But I don't question the heroism of people who put themselves in harm's way for the benefit of others.
I hope that Tammy Duckworth, despite the obvious difficulties posed by lacking legs, kicks Joe Walsh's ass (in the election) so hard he sneezes shit for the rest of his life.
