Tomorrow, we celebrate us telling the Brits to get the spark off our lawn, so let's begin with some good 'ol 'Merikun vittles - USA! USA! USA! :D
I'm noting only 1 "this day in history" item for today, but it is a real hum - dinger! Exactly 3 years ago today...
However, how can we miss $aint $arah from Wasilla IF SHE WON'T GO THE SPARK AWAY??!!
And, speaking of SPARK... :D If you're a FL resident, don't forget to bring the most recent issue of Guns & Ammo to your next doctor's appointment. Residents of "the Land of Lincoln" just aren't trying hard enough so make your state proud tomorrow! Allow me to pour the first cold one. :)
Finally, those of the Orthodox Jewish faith can finally enjoy a kosher version of the 'ol "chronic!" AND, since they'll have the munchies somethin' awful afterwards, here's a tasty treat. ;D
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
Ezra Klein gets pre - boom booms TRMS duty again. :D
"The Truth is on Fire" - I missed the first minute or 2 of the show. What's Senator Turtle done, now? Oh yea...it's the whole "30 million uninsured isn't an issue" $hit. And, what's with Chris Wallace being kind of sort of an actual journalist on FAUX News?! Jabba the Ailes probably took him to the woodshed on that! The MENSA folk are still a little fuzzy on the "replace" side of the "repeal & replace" shtick. What MENSA alternative was introduced in 2009? Oh yea! I remember now. Yea, if you can buy health insurance across state lines, all the business can go to states like TX that have craptacular regulations in that area. As many lawyers as there are in Congress, I'm surprised the whole tort reform memo still gets so much traction. The MENSA "alternative" would've covered around 3 million uninsured - as opposed to 30 million under Obamacare. Steve Kornacki's in da' house to talk Senator Turtle's honesty. He gets a little confused about saying out loud what the voices inside his head are saying about 1 - term administrations for President Obama & the "importance" of covering the uninsured in health care. Senator Turtle doesn't think Obamacare can be repealed even if Mittens (heaven forbid!) wins, and he said it out loud?! I'm with Ezra; that'll get done on January 21, 2013 if Mittens wins.
"Liberte, Egalite, & Absurdite" - President Obama's spending our Independence Day with a bunch of Cheese - Eating - Surrender monkeys?! Where's he gonna see fireworks? Can you buy them in little shops in strip malls like you can here?? OH...the story is bull pucky conjured up by "the usual suspects." I should've known. "The scum" Andrew Breitbart's still managing to rear his ugly rear from beyond the grave! President Obama is going to visit folks who will become citizens of this country IN THIS COUNTRY. Dave Weigel gets Cheese - Eating - Surrender monkey duty. ;D The MENSA folk conveniently forget Mittens is on video SPEAKING FRENCH. He lived there for awhile, too! I'm even willing to bet francs to baguettes he's got a beret in the back of a closet in 1 of his big 'ol houses. ;D
"The Curious Case of the North Carolina Button" - Someone in the NC state legislature mistakenly voted to override a veto against frakking - a Dem even. NICE. "Hoosiers" in the state house push buttons, too. Is this NC Dem a FNG in her job?
"Debt End" - There's a debtors prison - every MENSA member's wet dream, I'm sure. You can still end up in the big house if you owe money & can't pay like in traffic fines & stuff. A private probation company's helping to throw folks in jail. Alabama, huh? Based in Georgia, huh?? WHAT THE SPARK IS IT WITH THE DAMN SOUTH?!?! The 15 states with the largest prison populations also have the damn biggest court & probation fees, too. I'm not shocked that IL's jacked up their fees; they've been in the economic terlet for a long long long LONG damn time. Thomas Giovanni's in studio to talk about fine organizations like the places in AL. State courts are so cash - strapped they're looking for money any way & any place they can get it. Ah...these fees are coming from civil cases where you're not expressly entitled to legal counsel to hopefully prevent you from being screwed; THAT'S why so many end up behind bars who shouldn't be there.
"The Wizard of I.D." - More voter suppression news...HOWEVER, the MENSA Governator of MI actually VETOED a voter suppression bill! It's still harder to vote in NH & WI. You even get to pay a poll tax in WI to get the documents you need! The RNC is helping to defend the voter $hit in WI. Huh...isn't the head of the RNC a Cheese Head? It's getting harder to vote in PA, but at least the GOBP there are being honest about WHY it's gonna be harder. I wonder how IL got on that list? They've had a Dem Governor for a long time. Is their state legislature under control of the MENSA folk? Some disappointed MENSA person in MI even invoked ACORN. Was Little Jimmy O'Keefe wearing a pimp outfit & standing next to him during his little hissy fit?
"Chart Imitates Life" - Ezra is such a chart geek. ;D The Mittens folk are all about gaps between what President Obama promised & what's been delivered. They also don't get the purpose of Ven diagrams, but they are colorful!
