When News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch went on Twitter last Sunday to complain about Mitt Romney, the torch was lit.
And so began the Romney Olympics—a weeklong exhibition of wealth and privilege.
Romney family members—representing the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Switzerland, and Latinos—competed in rich people sports such as: hide and seek, fetus disposal, verbal gymnastics, dodgeball, taste testing, and basic math.
Unlike the real Olympics, there were no losers (or dancing horses) in the Romney Olympics.
The Romneys play by a different set of rules.

And Stephen Colbert's take on Republican efforts to destroy the economy for their electoral benefit.

New York State Sen. Marty Golden was planning to teach ladies a thing or two about being ladies.
Later this month, Republican State Sen. Marty Golden’s office is holding a career-development event for women in his southern Brooklyn district teaching them "Posture, Deportment and the Feminine Presence."
That's according to a taxpayer-funded mailing being sent out in Golden's district, which an offended reader passed along. The taxpayer-funded event – presented by a "certified protocol consultant" – is part of a series teaching women in Brooklyn "what's new in the 21st century as it relates to business etiquette and social protocol." More details are also available on Golden's Senate website, including the fact that women in attendance will be taught to, "Sit, stand and walk like a model," how to, "Walk up and down a stair elegantly" and "Differences in American and Continental rules governing handshakes and introductions."
Apparently, ladies don't like that kinda thing, so the event was subsequently
canceled.
Meanwhile, in other educational news...
Louisiana State Rep. Valarie Hodges was on board with Gov. Bobby Jindal's plan to allow state funds to be used to send children to religiously-affiliated schools... until she realized that some of the schools might be Muslim.
"I actually support funding for teaching the fundamentals of America's Founding Fathers' religion, which is Christianity, in public schools or private schools…Unfortunately it will not be limited to the Founders' religion. We need to insure that it does not open the door to fund radical Islam schools. There are a thousand Muslim schools that have sprung up recently. I do not support using public funds for teaching Islam anywhere here in Louisiana."
And, in other religious news...
An Alabama pastor played favorites... just like God does.
The organizer of the event, Rev. William C. Collier says that his Church of God’s Chosen (Christian Identity Ministries) is not a hate group but adds that he believes "the white race is God's chosen people."
Collier defends why only white Christians are invited.
"We don't have the facilities to accommodate other people. We haven't got any invitations to black, Muslim events. Of course we are not invited to Jewish events and stuff," Collier said.
We've got spirit!
