While Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger was, ironically, in Rockford Illinois at a Manufacturer's Association roundtable, he was asked in a WIFR (News 23) Interview by reporter Tina Stein whether Mitt Romney, whom Kinzinger wholeheartedly supports, should intervene on behalf of Freeport’s Sensata Technologies employees. Kinzinger defiantly replied “When you talk about Bain Capital it’s just an attempt by this administration to not talk about their record, which is really what the American voters are going to vote on.”
Kinzinger is clearly unaware that Mitt Romney’s sole claim of experience to become president—his time at Bain Capital—are the years he acted as CEO and the company pioneered outsourcing of American jobs to bolster corporate profits.
When pressed on the issue, Kinzinger gave a rather sarcastic ““Yeah, yeah …” and continued to deflect the question with:
“I think you know the reality of it is that when you talk about Bain Capital, when you talk about Mitt Romney it’s an attempt to take the focus off of what’s going on and where the economy is at come November.”
We'd like to remind Mr. Kinzinger that “jobs” are precisely the issue!
We'd like to remind Mr. Kinzinger that Romney’s history of outsourcing American jobs overseas while in control of Bain Capital and this latest Bain slaughter of Freeport jobs at Sensata are precisely the issue.
We'd like to remind Mr. Kinzinger that his failure to recognize these facts is precisely the issue that makes him unqualified to represent anyone but the corporations which outsource American jobs.
Kinzinger fails to share that he and his entire Republican party have voted no on every single jobs initiative the president has proposed during his first term.
Kinzinger fails to share that positive jobs numbers would help the president’s re-election bid, so he [Kinzinger] has instead supported Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s stated “primary goal” to make sure the president serves only one term.
Kinzinger fails to share that he has signed a pledge to an unelected official which supersedes his Constitutional oath to this nation and his constituents. Kinzinger honors his Grover Norquist pledge which protects the wealthiest from paying the few percentage points more that we need to move America forward.
Kinzinger fails to share that since the 1970s, the Republican Party has implemented a strategy called “Starve the Beast” whose sole goal is the profitization of government functions so that corporations can profit from providing services government once provided: Social Security, Medicare, Public Education, Water distribution, Prisons, and whatever else they can get their hands on. If Republicans reduce taxation to a point where government can no longer function, there will be no choice BUT to hand everything over to corporations.
Who better to preside over the outsourcing and profitizing of America than Kinzinger’s pal, Mitt Romney?
No, Mr. Kinzinger, confronting you and your party on Bain and Romney’s policies there are definitely not a diversion; they are imminently fair game and deserve more than your evasive responses and schooled talking points. The American people have every right to know the history, policies and financial background of our presidential candidates. Indeed, Mitt Romney himself has offered his work in business as his sole qualification for the office, and Bain is a crucial part of that background.
America does not want a job outsourcer as president—THAT, sir, is the issue.
America is tired of obstructionist politicians who stand in the way of job creation for political gain.
Mr. Kinzinger's support of Mitt Romney and his protection from scrutiny shows where his allegiances lie, and they are not with the hard-working people of the 16th Congressional District in Illinois.
