This is just how insane right-wing lunacy has gone. On the "Istook Live!" radio show offered up by the Heritage Foundation, Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said this:
"You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of terror like this takes place."

Gohmert isn't acting as a Christian, he's acting as an opportunist. He's climbing on a pile of 12 bodies as if they were a soapbox to deliver a totally unrelated rant. I don't think the root of this tragedy is that as a nation we aren't Christian enough. Maybe the issue is more that zealots like him have lowered the threshold for hate, thriving on divisiveness because it serves a distinct political purpose. I wonder, if the shooter emerges as a right-wing Christian how will Gohmert try to spin that? My guess is that his only response would be silence.
