On this day in 1969, men walked on the Moon.
I made them wake me up so I could watch. It meant a lot to me, so I made them promise. 6 days before, I had thrown up my birthday cake. It was a pretty blue cake with Cinderella. I couldn't eat anything, I had the Hong Kong flu. I went from an 85 pound 4th grader to less than half that weight.
my doctor had gone on vacation, and knowing I was sick, had told my mother to take me back to the Dr.s offices if I got worse or needed care, we had very good medical, cause my dad was a Logger for St. Regis Logging.... she waited till he came back to work from vacation... I remember him hissing at her "why didn't you bring her in earlier?" as he plugged me into an IV drip.
I lived, but losing half your body weight in a month really messes with your metabolism, so I battled my weight and ended up being fat for most of high school.
I compare the sick as shit 4th grader, to the pitiful place we are now? WTF?
we were sposed to have flying cars!
and my teeth are falling out from neglect, cause I just can't afford a dentist. I want my fucking flying car
What happened to that American Promise?
From Cafe Wellstone in SecondLife:
Nakaima Oh: good question--not that we'd really want a flying car °͜°
well, I do Naka!! what you don't???
but, I really would like my teeth to not hurt anymore
