Kossacks,

I haven't been online much the last month as I had limited internet access while waiting on a refurbished Gateway motherboard replacement . While I was gone, apparently a lot of chaos and confusion occurred which upset folks here. Please don't let recent events taint with cynicism this community. I know firsthand there are amazing groups of people here!

Kossacks, why this is an amazing community! Plus free grocery coupons.

In early June, Nurse Kelley and FrugalGranny reached out to me urging me to put aside my pride and ask this community for help. That these two women amid their own troubles would take the time to reach out to me really moved me.
Kelley's diaries in particular have long been an inspiration to me as she truly embodies that 2008 we are in this together spirit that brought me to this site. Kelley truly lives and breathes "We are our brother/sisters' keepers." My thoughts and hugs go out to her now as she recovers from those awful fires.

So on June 13th, I finally gathered my courage and scrambled thoughts into a diary (Do you ever feel like you're drowning? And hate to ask for help?).
I was simply overwhelmed by the responses. Truly. Here were strangers embracing me and trying to find solutions for my problems.

There was BlackSheep1 who researched cheaper repair parts and wound up saving me $86.90! There was Timewarp who brought me to tears with his positive spirit in the face of homelessness. There was Annie who emailed  her own similar story of losing a parent and racking up debts. And so many others who sent me their encouragement and support.

Many thanks to those who sent funds to help pay my car repaired (FIXED!!) and getting my gas back on (75% of the way there!!!). I will never forget your generosity, especially yours, Silvio, as you embody that survivor spirit paying it forward and I promise to do the same.

I especially want to send a huge hug and thank you to an amazing Massachusetts Kossack. Ekaterin literally took my shaking, scared hand, held it tight and wrote a diary on my behalf. She's been my lifeline and I will never forget her generosity of spirit and friendship when I hit rock bottom. She's been encouraging me every step of the way to believe things can get better.
And she was right.

Things have gotten better, little by line. I recently was able to locate a cheap refurbished motherboard for my Gateway. And thanks to my cousin's generosity in taking me to the Red Sox vs Yankees game, we were able to spread my beloved papi's ashes over 3rd base wall, as close to the Green Monster as we could get.

For those who wanted to learn about the hospice that aided my father's final days or want to send thank yous on his behalf, here is their address:
Hospice by the Sea, Inc.,
1531 W. Palmetto Park Road
Boca Raton, FL 33486
(Federico Ferrera deceased 2/8/12)

Finally, I had batches of envelopes with grocery coupons mailed out before my computer crashed. The other requests please know I did not forget you, I just got back my hard drive contents and will be mailing more envelopes this week.

If you can use grocery coupons and/or have questions how to use coupons to save $$$, please Kossack mail me. This is my small way to help out until I can get back on my feet.

There are no words left to express my deepest gratitude.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
