I visited Fox News.com to see if they would say just ONE word about the Romney debacle in London. If Obama had made even one of Romney's many gaffes, we'd have non-stop coverage. But the problem here is Romney stepped in it again and again.
I knew they couldn't just ignore the anger from the British public, as well as the outcry from the London mayor and the British Prime Minister for his insults. But ignore it they mostly did, with one exception. I did a search and found one lone story.
No words for this spin:
Mitt Romney may be just what the London Olympics needed.
In little more than 24 hours in London, the U.S. presidential candidate has gotten Britons to stop complaining about bumper-to-bumper traffic, cringing about cost overruns and fretting about shoddy security — and instead start taking pride in their country's long-awaited day in the sun.
Thank you for your "journalism".
I would think insulting the country you are visiting, and being called a twit and a disaster "utterly devoid of charm", to be harmful. Especially since the purpose of your trip was to help "repair" the damaged relationship due to Obama because of his failure to understand our special Anglo-Saxon, white values.....
But turns out being a dick to those ungrateful foreigners was exactly what they needed to pull off a successful opening ceremony and come together to fix the problems...
"No matter what some man said, we are prepared ... to support our country, our city and our sportsmen with everything we have," she added.
Those sentiments are a quick about-face from the weeks of moaning many Britons have engaged in prior to the games, which begin with the opening ceremony Friday night.
So UK, you are welcome. You may love Barack Obama for some reason (you know he isn't Anglo, right?)
But you should get down on your chimney-swept knees and THANK GOD for Mitt Romney.
This makes TWO Olympics he saved.
