Honest, I wasn't looking for this. It was on a news site I read for the news, and it just popped open in my browser as if it were meant to be.
But it's a lie. I can't afford this even in my wildest fantasies.
Nor would I want to live in that part of the US - visit, yes. I'd love to visit it.
But 702 acres of land - with buildings and history, and my mind goes - all the lovely things I could do, all the jobs I could create, all the wonderful people I could work with, if only I had $3.9 million. Or thereabouts.
I could turn this into a year round steampunk destination, a town creating a steampunk lifestyle, with craftsmen, and festivals, and workshops. We could do splodey science projects and create all manner of awesomeness. We could unplug the geyser. There would be room to make all manner of nifty steam-driven devices and maybe even figure out how the automotive industry would be if we'd taken Tesla's route.
Oh, the raptures of imagining all these people that could be employed there because it would be a huge tourist destination - it's between Moab and Salt Lake City and comes with water rights.
But that's all it will remain - a fantasy because who has $3.9 million to spare to fund a dream?
EDITED TO ADD: le sigh. I did not win this lottery. I bought 2 tickets, one for yesterday's lottery and one for Friday's. I may spend $20 this month on lottery tickets, and if I don't win, at least part of that will fund the schools so it won't be totally wasted money.
