I'm temporarily one-handed, so I have to make this short, but…
Has anybody considered the possibility that Harry Reid's sources will come forward in due time -- perhaps an August or September surprise, during or right after the rethuglycan convention? I haven't read a thing mentioning this possibility, so I wanted to put it out there.
Harry Reid is a conservative person. I highly doubt he would accuse the presumed thug nominee of not paying taxes for ten years if he couldn't eventually reveal his sources.
Now, with carefully chosen words, Nancy Pelosi has backed up Reid's claim. I'm sure she'd like to be speaker again. I can't imagine she'd support his claim if doing so could be a future political liability for her.
"Harry Reid made a statement that is true. Somebody told him. It is a fact," Pelosi told The Huffington Post in a Sunday interview. "Whether he did or not can easily be disposed of: mitt romney can release his tax returns and show whether he paid taxes."
Given the blunders of romney's campaign so far, it doesn't seem as though that they're thinking much beyond their current move. romney's supporters have jumped on board the call-Reid-a-liar-and-demand-he-reveal-his-sources ship without thinking about the possibility that such a demand would likely come back to haunt the gop if met. One thing is certain: the more the romney campaign whines about Reid, the more American people of all political persuasions want to see rmoney's tax returns.
Senate Majority Leader, Reid, is patient enough to let this fester at the top of the headlines for a while, in order to give the thugs enough rope to hang themselves with, so to speak. I think Reid's credible source(s) will soon come forward, leaving no doubt about his claim. It will also leave no doubt in the minds of all Americans, that mitt romney is definitely not presidential material. I'm looking forward to it. Until then, I hope Reid can keep this in the headlines.
