Teacher's Comments from Ms. Ploutz:
My Students: "Roger, Tranquility. Be advised there are lots of smiling faces in this room and all over the world. Over." ~ Charlie Duke
There was a room full of smiling faces when I announced our upcoming space unit!
I teach an amazingly wonderful group of avid reading and scientific second graders at a high-need, public, Title I school in Indiana. My students love science; especially anything to do with the solar system. Sadly, my science resources are limited.
My Project: These solar system games and tools will be put in the eager hands of my students right away. They will also be used for my students for many, many years to come. Hands-on, kinesthetic learning is best for the students in my classroom which is why I am seeking out tactile resources for them to use.
Confucius once said, "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." Well, I want my students to be able to understand the great world around them in way that sticks with them forever. Please help me bring this project to light. Thank you!
