Announcing Ecuador's decision, Mr Patino said the country believed Mr Assange's fears of political persecution were "legitimate".
He said the country was being loyal to its "tradition" of protecting those who are vulnerable.
Lets see now how much the current UK government respects international law. After threatening to storm the embassy of Equador yesterday, the conservative government of David Cameron will have a decision to make.
Respect the international law and let Assange go to Equador? or disregard the international law, storm the embassy and arrest Assange?
