Just a short diary to bring this to everyone's attention. Hopefully PPP or someone here who works with them can clarify this likely nonsense.
NRO's Jim Geraghty, in his blog The Campaign Spot is basically accusssing PPP of intentionally messing with the partisan voter identification.

For the flash poll out this morning showing Akin still leading McCaskill by one point:
D 30%
R 39%
I 32%
According to Geraghty, PPP did a poll in late May showing Obama with a similar slight lead over Romney. In that case, the partisan subgroups were:
D 35%
R 33%
I 33%
My guess is that this has to due with the nature of a "flash poll". I don't believe PPP is cooking the books to try to goad Akin into staying in by offering him some false polling hope.
Not that it even needs to be said, but PPP is not Rasmussen !
Can someone more knowledgeable or better connected than myself provide an explanation?
