Short post, but it doesn't take much to uncover racism.
What the hell is going on down there? First there's word of food being thrown at a member of the media, then there's this piece in Harpers. Apparently the delegates booed the Puerto Rican speaker. Why? Because she has an accent I guess.
None of us could quite believe what we were seeing: A sea of twentysomething bowties and cowboy hats morphing into frat bros apparently shrieking over (or at) a Latina.

UPDATE: Hey all. Wow I missed a lot! Sorry for the silence but I had family over last night. It looks like the context of the video makes it tough to call the moment racist. Now I can watch this video and not be AS angry. However, I do get the sense (even from this video) that the anger went unchecked and was as intense because the audience was not respectful of the speaker. If the speaker had been from Texas, my opinion is that he/she would have had a chance to get a word out. That is only my opinion and there's no way to back it up except to point out the GOPs well-deserved reputation. The reporter on the scene seemed to think that there was vitriol toward the speaker as well as the party shenanigans. Priebus also looked very nervous especially after he points out that she's the lady from Puerto Rico and that seems to get a rise out of the crowd. However, after reading your thoughts I'm definitley convinced the angry faces in the hall were not all racist rage.
I will also say that the optics for the GOP are horrible and they'd better hope a Dem PAC doesn't get their hands on this thing.
Thanks for responses! Please let me know how partial retractions are handled so I can do the right thing here. I don't post often and don't understand the intricacies of HRing, Tip Jarring, proper updating, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
