Want to get discouraged workers on your side?
Simple -- Stand behind Labor's very equitable demands.
And then ask Sherrod Brown how powerful that coalition can be.
Brown, Mandel offer sharp contrast on economy

[Democratic Senator Sherrod] Brown is an old-school populist and self-styled defender of the little guy. He says the path to economic prosperity is cracking down on unfair trade practices by China, passing a five-year farm bill that would help struggling livestock producers and corn growers and investing in American infrastructure.
Spending federal dollars on roads, sewer systems and schools, Brown said, "would put people to work directly and set a foundation for a more prosperous, efficient economy."

Smart guy, Sherrod Brown -- and steadfast progressive voice too.

Tax policy
Brown voted last year for the deal that Obama struck with congressional Republicans to extend all of the Bush-era tax cuts, but only because it also included an extension of unemployment benefits for laid-off workers. With those tax cuts set to expire again at the end of this year, Brown says only the breaks for families earning less than $250,000 should be renewed.
"You balance the budget by closing tax loopholes for companies that outsource and for oil companies, and by asking the wealthy to pay a little more," Brown said. He argued that letting the tax cuts expire would bring the code back to where it was during the Clinton presidency, a time of economic prosperity and job growth.

I hope the DNC takes the Needs and Demands of Labor seriously. (Even that "unemployed" Labor constituency.)
That vital turn-out demo is organizing, but not in the way you might think it is ...
DNC targeted by unions, Occupy, ‘values’ protesters
The Associated Press, The Salt Lake Tribune -- Sep 01 2012
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Several groups, including labor organizations and those opposing President Barack Obama’s positions on various issues, plan to demonstrate outside the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte in the coming days. On Sunday, protesters will take part in the March on Wall Street South -- a demonstration that will focus on economic inequality, social injustice and other issues. [...]
Respecting the needs of Labor, and strengthening Labor Rights across the nation --
IS the Future.
Catering to needs of Multinational Corporations -- simply enables and strengthens that dreaded "Race to the Bottom."
The sooner the Democratic Party gets in-sync with, and then strongly behind the need of Labor
-- the stronger the Party will be in the long run.
Just ask Sherrod Brown, and the Labor Activists, who recently took back power from the "Right to Work" interests, led by John Kasich in the state of Ohio. (you know that perennial Bell-weather state.)
When you stand against Labor -- in the long run you stand against We the People.
Labor is not going away. We ARE America.
When it's between Us -- oppressed workers -- and the Multinational Corporations, raking it in like gangbusters ...
Who's interests are you going to stand with -- 'Citizens United' notwithstanding?
SO Dems given your inevitable answer, please stand with Labor Unions now.
(And then ask Sherrod Brown to show you how to get it done. Real Change, that is.)
