I think the current diary at the top of the rec list is a good one.  It's worth reading and getting fired up over.  Admittedly, I myself felt a little bit disenchanted with the Obama Administration on a number of issues over the last 4 years.  But these last few months I have been part of the liberal base that’s happy to be rounded up in support of my President.
And holy crap did Michelle Obama rock last night!  My God what an incredible woman!  Not to mention Mayor Castro hitting it out of the ballpark as well.  I am reminded of a young President Obama giving his speech in the 2004 Democratic Convention believing what the rest of the media was thinking – that is our future right there.

Yes, I am officially fired up.

With that said, however, please keep in mind something.  Current Senate projections have the Democrats losing 4 seats while the current House projections have us losing 2 seats.  This outright sucks.  It wasn’t long ago where I saw everyone celebrating a projected House takeover by the Democrats because of the obstruction and outright nutty shit the Teabaggers have been doing in Congress.  And now we’re currently en route to lose seats.  This isn’t cause for chest-thumping or cockiness. Yes it’s nice to see us on a good pathway for today to win an Obama 2nd term.  And if that “crush them” diary fires you up and gets you involved, then that’s awesome.

But please keep in mind there’s more at stake here than just the Executive Branch.  Obama won’t get shit done with a Congress that’s just as ridiculous and defiant as the last one has been.  Please consider your GOTV efforts need to help us focus on maintaining the Senate majority while taking back the House.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
