Nobody can say, with a straight face and non-Fauxified brain, that Rmoney is a gifted speaker. Or knows how to really pump up a crowd of sane people. Or is anything better than the best of an absolutely primordial swamp of Presidential candidates within his party. So it doesn't come as much of surprise that Bane is confused about what a politician- even the very best- can do on their own.
Forget the rhetoric, tonight, Mr. President, because:
"What I'd like him to do is report on his promises, but there are forgotten promises and forgotten people," Romney said.
He accused Obama of not delivering on plans to create jobs, reduce the deficit and jumpstart the economy. "I think this is a time for him not to start restating new promises but to report on the promises he made," Romney said.
Plans, promises, plans, promises. Hmm, what's the difference? Could be that a plan can be thwarted by ghastly villains, of which the candidate knows more than a few. Still, that little sleight of forked tongue- easy enough even to trip up the savviest Village journo- is no big deal to anybody. The problem, of course, is that his thematic journey into Promiseland took him to a typical Mittonian cul-de-sac:
Asked if he'd watched any of the Democratic convention, including former President Bill Clinton's speech Wednesday night, Romney he hadn't "so far." Asked if he would watch Obama's speech, Romney curtly replied, "Uh, don't plan on it.....I'd love to watch it.....But if it's another series of new promises that he's not going to keep, I have no interest in seeing him because I saw the promises last time."
Got that? Of course you do, there's no other way around interpreting that, Karl and co! It must make his puppet-masters insane with frustration when he lets the cat out of the bag and says stuff like this. Folks, he pretty much just admitted that he can't watch tonight's speech because it'll be full of promises the President won't keep in his second term. President Obama Is.Just.Not going to keep those promises. Not that he can't-because he won't be in the White House- but, we must infer, that he just won't because that's the kind of President O is and that's the way he's going to continue to be. Game. Set. Almost match for the Prez.
Hello, Boston?? Does anybody over there know how to play this game??? With that kind of attitude, i'll be amazed if he has the willpower to pull the lever for the poor stiff Republican running for President.
