A quick diary.
Something that the Republicans had on us for a lot of years was their classic list of core values: "Small government, low taxes, and a strong military". The Democratic party during the 1980s and 90s did not have any such list...ours was a complex laundry list of policy positions that were laudable but difficult to translate into a core mission. I believe that has changed.
Based on the speeches I heard during the DNC convention, I think we can finally provide that short list of critical Democratic values. Here's basically what I heard:
Smart government. Responsible citizenship. Global leadership.
I'm sure you folks have other ideas for what our three core values should be...I'd love to hear them.
