I realize this is a short diary, but I feel this must be pointed out.
What is the underpinning of the Romney plan to create jobs? For years now we've been told that taxes on the "job creators" must be lowered in order to unleash the economic forces currently shackled in order to create jobs. Certainly, most reading this Diary recognize the fallacy in that belief, but let's assume for now that the repubs really believe this. Assume they are sincere in wanting to jump start the economy.
But yesterday, Romney undermined his own position and his party. How, you might ask?
Romney paraphrased: We won't be lowering taxes for the wealthy, we will be lowering the tax rate, but doing a corresponding closing of (unnamed) deductions and loopholes from the top down"
The obvious follow up question to this is:
Mr. Romney, if tax breaks for the job creators are needed to create jobs and jump start the economy, how will that happen if you now say that taxes will NOT be lowered for the so called "job creators "b
He is repeatedly putting himself into a logical conundrum. In his desire to pander and be all things to all people, as evidenced also by his problems with Obamacare, he finds he is constantly contradicting himself and flailing.
I hope no one objects to the brevity of this diary and absence of links, but I think everyone has heard his exact quote and I wanted to get this out there.
Thanks!
