I have been pushing hard on fundraising for key Senate and House race. I have been doing this through three Act Blue Sites each with a different focus.
My efforts just got another big boost today with a new wave of contributions. But I want to really maximize our efforts. We are at a serious risk of losing the Senate and we really need to gain in the House. I think we can do both...MAYBE even take the House if we push really, really hard. Recent polls have been looking up in many House races.
So I have been pushing with 3 Act Blue Pages to try and win key races that are looking close. If we want to control Congress anytime soon, these are the races we need to win. Follow me below the fold for more...maybe together we can give the Billionaire Koch Brothers a run for their money ; -)
EFFORT 1: Defending and upgrading the Senate.
ACT BLUE PAGE: SENATE 2012
Raised so far: $870.00
Highest amount raised at this site so far:
Jon Tester (MT) $165.00
Shelley Berkley (NV) $155.00
Right now polls suggest we may lose the Senate. That would pretty much suck. My Senate Act Blue Site has been targeting some of the key races. At this point (polls have been going up and down in some races) the closest races I see are:
Arizona (trending our way fast...I suggest an extra push here!)
Connecticut
Virginia (too close for comfort!)
Indiana
Massachusetts
Missouri (REALLY important to win this one!)
Montana
Nevada (been trending our way I think)
Ohio
We need to win almost all of these to hold the Senate. Personally I am particularly eager to win in Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana and Wisconsin because in each of these we have a good candidate pitted against a horrible right wing extremist. Click here for more info and to help win the Senate. I would love to really boost my fundraising on this!
EFFORT 2: Gaining in the House
ACT BLUE PAGE: CONGRESS 2012
Raised so far: $1,442.89
Highest amounts raised at this site so far:
Christie Vilsack (IA-4): $162.90
Bill Foster (IL-11): $123.89
Ami Bera (CA-7): $113.89
We REALLY need to regain the House but at the moment the polls aren't in our favor. But there are a LOT of close races and many have been looking better for us as time goes on. So maybe some extra effort will put some of these races over the top for us.
I am particularly eager to win:
IA-4 (defeating Repub extremist and racist Steve King)
IL-11 (electing renowned scientist Bill foster)
NH-1 and NH-2
CO-6
PA-8
NV-3
CA-10 (electing an Astronaut!!!)
FL-9 and FL-26
WI-7 and WI-8
NY-18 (time to get rid of crazy Nan Hayworth!)
WI-8 and NY-18 are new to the list so they need a bit of catching up.
Truth is we need to win all of these and more if we want ANY shot of retaking the House. If nothing else, help me defeat racist Steve King in IA-4!!! I would SO LOVE to take him down. Click here to help retake the House.
EFFORT 3: Kick ass in Massachusetts, Illinois and Wisconsin
This is in honor of the Pres and VP candidates of both Parties...I would love to see Democrats sweep in all the states these candidates hail from...don't know any close races in Delaware so that means MA, WI and I. In some ways this Act Blue site is a bit more tongue in cheek...but still critical races to win!
ACT BLUE PAGE: https://secure.actblue.com/...">EMBARRASS THE ROM/RY
Raised so far: $465.00
Highest amount raised at this site so far:
Pat Kreitlow (WI-7): $49.06
Rob Zerban (WI-1): $49.07
Between Senate and House, these are three critical states. MA-SEN and WI-SEN are particularly critical. We have a better shot at MA-SEN than WI-SEN at this point but I am really hoping we can pull it off in WI as well. And there are House races in all three states we need to win to retake the House. But most of all, it would look REALLY bad for Romney and Ryan if we swept these states. So help me win big on the home turf of Romeny, Ryan and Obama.
So far among these three pages I have raised over $2500...how much more can we raise to give Obama the best Congress he can have? I would love to get to $5000! After all, the Billionaire Koch Brothers are giving far more to keep Obama from getting anything done, so we need to fight back.
