I know it's too early to look to the interim elections of 2014 but PLEASE let this be so. From Delaware Online:
Christine O’Donnell, who signaled the tea party’s ascendance two years ago when she wrested the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate from longtime U.S. Rep. Mike Castle, said at the urging of supporters, she’s giving serious thought to a 2014 rematch against the man who beat her in the general election, U.S. Sen. Chris Coons.
“I think I owe that to my supporters, to at least consider a run,” O’Donnell said in an interview last week. “People sacrificed. Not only came out of their comfort zone – sacrificed to work hard in order to win the primary. And I think that I owe it to them to give it every consideration.”
I can only guess that her rent will be due about then. O'Donnell, however, paints herself more as a Tea Party culture warrior in Delaware, where the Teabaggers are attempting to break out of their one little stronghold in Sussex County. She highlights her compatriot, Rose Izzo’s 2:1 loss in the Republican Congressional primary as a
good thing, saying, "
To me, that’s not a reflection for support for Rose as much as it is against the party" adding quickly that, but of course, all good Republicans must unite, blah, blah, blah...
What can we say, Christine? More power to you and may you also draw off a third of your party's craziest voters, garner as much media attention as possible and make people uncomfortable for years to come.
