This evening, after Romney's now infamous leaked video began making the rounds, Nick Kristof of The New York Times tried his hand at creating a Twitter hashtag with this Tweet:
Giddy and a bit annoyed by Romney's disdain for nearly half of all Americans, Kristof tried his hand at another:
And suddenly,
#RomneyEncore took off as followers began responding with their own creative endeavors by putting fake words into Romney's mouth. It spread quickly, like a match set to dry tumbleweed, and is now burning out of control.
While there are simply too many gems to recount here, below are a few of my favorites:
And yes, I tried my hand at one as well:
Go on, it's fun to, well, make fun of
a man who apparently said this at a secret fundraiser:
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it.
That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.
My job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives
