One thing Romney might want to consider is that many of the 47% of Americans he insulted actually reside in the states most likely to vote for him.
The ranking of states with "filers with no liability" is as follows (by the way, these numbers are from 2008, largely from before the huge economic downturn, which is why the percentages are below the national average for 2011):
1). Mississippi - 45%
2). Georgia - 41%
3). Arkansas - 41%
4). New Mexico - 40%
5). Alabama - 40%
6). South Carolina - 40%
7). Louisiana - 39%
8). Texas - 39%
9). Florida - 39% (can you say retirees?)
10). Idaho - 39%
With the exception of New Mexico, and possibly Florida, each of these is a dark red state, virtually guaranteed to vote for Romney in the fall.
