So, yesterday, Willard M. Romney was in California, for two purposes: a speech at the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and a private fundraiser in Orange County. I wonder if his reception at the Hispanic Chamber would have been different if the attendees had seen this beforehand:
While Romney's commentary on the 47% has been getting the most air play so far, after watching the video above, one has to wonder why he's even taking the time to speak to Latinos. Here's a transcript:
My heritage...my dad as you probably know was the Governor of Michigan and was the head of a car company. But he was born in Mexico...and uh, had he been born of uh, Mexican parents, I'd have a better shot at winning this. But he was unfortunately born to Americans living in Mexico. He lived there for a number of years. And uh, uh, I say that jokingly, but it would be helpful to be uh...Latino.
George Romney was "unfortunately born to Americans living in Mexico"? Really, Willard - unfortunately? It would be better if your dad had been a citizen of Mexico?
Thanks for continuing to piss on another demographic that you have no chance at winning, Willard.
