You're busy. Who has time? And if you look, you might bid on something. Specifically, you might outbid me, and I'm doing my holiday shopping at the Netroots Nation auction.
I know, I know. Some of us want to support the Netroots Nation community. Some of us find Netroots Nation to be a essential part of our life, nourishing our citizen souls. Some of us want to help build the strong community. To nourish our roots as we support each other in making a world that is a little better than it might otherwise be.
I am not one of those people. I just want a good bargain and the Netroots Nation auction has some great items, created with love by people for a community they love, at bargain prices.
Ok, Ok. I guess I can’t ask you to not bid on anything. I suppose some of you deserve to find some lovely things that support our community as well, so how about you don’t bid on the things that I REALLY want?
I guess you can bid on these incredible, gooey, delicious, pumpkin bars. I really want them, but, frankly, I probably shouldn’t have them. So if you must have them, I’ll forgive you.
But don't bid on the personalized bird tour of the bay area. I am totally looking forward to taking my aunt on this the weekend before Netroots Nation.
And don’t bid on this autographed photo of Elizabeth Warren. She is going to be my favorite senator, and I’ve been donating money to her every single month. I know that some of you have too, but I bid first!
Please don’t bid on this beautiful picture of half dome. I have an office without a window, and it would be so lovely over my desk. There is something soaring about it that just lifts my spirits. It is framed and a heck of a bargain. Don’t bid.
Speaking of my office, I’m looking forward to both the autographed copy of Van Jones book and the photo of Van Jones at Netroots Nation to put on my wall.
But most importantly, don’t bid on the iPad autographed by Howard Dean! A 16gb iPad that I can use to read the blogs in public. I want this very much, and right now, I’m the highest bidder, and it is such a great deal. Would you really want to take the bragging rights of the coolest DNC chair ever autographing one of the cooler tech things ever?
