Herbert Lom, best known for his role as the Clouseau-maddened Chief Inspector Dreyfus has died. He was born in what is now the Czech Republic in 1917 and was given the exquisitely aristocratic name of Herbert Karel Angelo Kuchacevic ze Schluderpacheru.
He played many roles, and that of Chief Inspector Dreyfus came late in his career. He was reported to have loved the part. So in tribute I offer:
