Now Mitt Romney has done it. He's
pissed off eight-year-old Alabama resident Cecelia Crawford.
On Thursday morning, she was still angry, so she wrote Romney a letter, sent along to The Huffington Post by her mother. Crawford wrote that she is a fan of "Sesame Street" and that it was her "favorite show on earth" when she was younger.
"When I grow up I'm going to get married and I want my kids to watch it so do not cut it off," Crawford wrote. "You find something else to cut off!"
I can think of a few things that could be cut off, but how about we start with the Republican House of Representatives that has
voted repeatedly to
defund public broadcasting.
They say things like this, from Rep. Chip Cravaack:
"It is small, but the small ones add up. A bunch of drops in the bucket fill the pail," said Chip Cravaack of cutting NPR's federal dollars out of the entire budget. "We can't keep on funding programs that are on [our children's] dime, we have to stop. We have to look for savings anywhere we can."
Nice one there, Chip. Say it's all for the children as you're slashing Sesame Street. They'll sure thank you for that, you heartless bastard. You and every single other Republican our Orange to Blue House candidates are taking on.
That's why every single one of our House candidates is going to benefit from this week's Hell to Pay, because every single one of those Republicans, along with Mitt Romney, wants to deprive America's children of genius like this.
How are children going to learn to count and to learn early appreciate the genius of Elvis Costello without Sesame Street? And they have the gall to say they're cutting Sesame Street for the children.
For all the children, and for the child you once were, and for Count von Count, and especially for Jim Henson (trigger alert, this one will leave you crying), let's make them pay.
Please give $1 to each of our House candidates in Hell to Pay.
