Welcome to WAYWO, our friendly group for sharing creative works. Whether it is fabric and yarn, like me, or wood or metal or clay, or writing, welding, or matchstick sculptures, all are invited here to share. We love to see what others are doing, and we hope if this is your first visit, you will chime in with comments and let us see or hear about your work.
So, to get things rolling, I want to show what I have been cooking up in my kitchen this week:
I have been dyeing some white tees, then painting designs with stencils or freehand, and with the black tee, I used a stencil and sprayed it with full-strength bleach. Then I dipped it in a bath of bleach stop. I have a regular chemistry lab in my kitchen! That design is the Viking Helm of Awe, or symbol of invincibility. The green shirt is not completed - I lightly painted the Viking compass(to help keep you on your path, even when the path is not known - a great graduation gift for your favorite unemployed grad!). I will go over it several times by hand to get the color how I like it. These will be available when done in my online shop,Lightning Tree Designs Please visit - and give me feedback if you like.
A quick announcement: If you are going to Netroots Nation in San Jose in 2013, and want to show your crafts, I have a table. I would like to offer the space in exchange for a small percentage of your sales, all the cash to benefit OKICIYAP, the food pantry supported by people here, located at Cheyenne River Lakota reservation in South Dakota.(tax-deductible). Be thinking about it - I hope it will give some nice explosure to our creative class here at DKos, plus help a good organization.
So, What Are You Working On? Please share!
